2023-24 MAC GYM TOURNAMENT RULES
(2) 15 – MINUTE HALVES (RUNNING CLOCK)
CLOCK STOPS LAST 30 SECONDS OF FIRST HALF; LAST MINUTE OF 2ND HALF UNLESS A TEAM IS AHEAD BY 20 PTS.
1 – TIME OUT PER HALF (30 SECOND) PER TEAM
2 - MINUTE HALFTIME
5 – MINUTE WARMUP BEFORE GAME -ADJUSTED AS NEEDED – BE READY 10 MINUTES BEFORE SCHEDULE TIME
1 – MINUTE - 1ST OVERTIME – CLOCK STOPS LAST 30 SECONDS – 2ND OVERTIME SUDDEN DEATH – ONLY 1 TIMEOUT PER TEAM IN ANY OVERTIME
7 TEAM FOULS – 1 AND 1 FOUL SHOTS
10 TEAM FOULS - 2 FOUL SHOTS
5th GRADE –
M2M DEFENSE – MAY DOUBLE TEAM BALL – MAY PRESS LAST 5 MINUTES UNLESS UP BY 12 POINTS
MAY STEP ACROSS FOUL LINE BUT CANNOT REBOUND
RULE ADJUSTMENTS, Clarifications, and Information:
4 girls division will have no press, must play man to man/ help defense, no zone. They will be able to double team out of the man to man/ help defense. Shooters may move up to the thin blue line for foul shots but can’t go for rebounds.
4/5 boys division and 5th/6th girls division must play man to man/ help defense with double teams allowed, no zone. Press the last 5 minutes of the game only if not up by 10. The press can use a “Zone press”. Shooters may move up for foul shots to the thick blue line and may cross on the shot but cannot go for the rebound.
There are a lot of games and we are scheduled every 45 min which should leave about 5 min warmup between games. Please move out of the bench area quickly after the game is over and teams shake hands to Maximize warmup time. We will have an area in the basement that teams can hang out, coaches can meet with players and have their pre/post game meetings.
We will be charging admission of $5/ Adult at the door. (Cash only) We will have a concession stand on site all day. Serving drinks, candy, as well as hotdogs and pulled pork sandwiches. Also in town there are several businesses that support us so we ask that if you would like to leave and get something other than concession stand food please support the Oasis bar and grill if you are looking for a family bar/ restaurant or if you are in the need of a nice cup of coffee and a sandwich check out the Genesis house, both here in Antwerp.

December 2, 2023 - MAC Gym basketball leagues begin Grades 3/4/5/6 Girls and Boys offered
** ONLY TEAMS THAT MAKE CHECKS OUT TO MAC GYM WILL BE SCHEDULED - NO OTHER CHECKS ACCEPTED***
